Joel Embiid has been a punchline for the basketball world for the past two years, and now he's ready to turn the tables.

The third overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft isn't just satisfied with finally getting on to the court, he's looking to make a big impact for the 76ers this season.

POSITION RANKINGS: Point guard | Shooting guard | Small forward

"I feel like I’m the best player on the floor," he said via at the start of his team's training camp on Tuesday. "So I’m just going to do my job on the floor. I’m just going to do what coach [Brett Brown] wants me to do: Be a defensive piece, and when I’m needed to be a scorer, I’m going to be that."

Wednesday the team posted a photo of him dunking over teammate Nerlens Noel at practice, so he very well could be telling the truth.

The 7-2 center is preparing to see his first action this season after being drafted out of Kansas over two years ago. The NBA, particularly 76ers fans, will be eager to see if the big guy was worth the wait.
