Cavaliers coach David Blatt said Sunday that Irving wouldn’t be ready to play during the team’s upcoming two-game road trip, as he had previously hoped, but sounded optimistic that it wouldn’t be long before Irving takes the court again.

Irving has not played since June 4 when he fractured his left kneecap during Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
