There were rumors that Nuggets guard Ty Lawson could be headed to the Pacers in exchange for George Hill, but that report was shot down by Denver Post reporter Chris Dempsey.

Dempsey said nothing has changed in Lawson's status as a Nuggets player and focal point of the franchise. Lawson is not expected to be traded before the Thursday deadline, according to Dempsey. The trade deadline is 3 p.m. ET.

The Lakers were listed a

s possible landing spots for Lawson in an report, based on the premise that Nuggets coach Brian Shaw wanted to replace Lawson with Hill, who played in Indiana while Shaw was an assistant.

Dempsey dispelled that idea, though, stating that the Nuggets never considered a swap of Lawson for Hill.
