Prior to his decision to leave Los Angeles for the Chicago Bulls, Pau Gasol struggled on the basketball court as he endured years of trade rumors.

The Lakers could not promise Gasol he would experience more success in the coming seasons, or that he would be utilized more in the post. But they did offer security in the form of a no-trade clause.
Los Angeles making such an offer to Gasol is significant, because there are only six players in the NBA who share that distinction, as ProBasketballTalk noted. The list exclusive list includes Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Garnett, Dirk Nowitzki and Dwyane Wade.
