Lions vs. Packers: Score, results

The Lions cruised to an easy 30-17 victory over the Packers at Lambeau Field on Monday night. Detroit scored a touchdown on its opening drive and never looked back as it improved to 4-4 on the season. 

Matthew Stafford threw for 361 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Lions, while Marvin Jones Jr. tallied 107 receiving yards and two scores. Golden Tate also added 113 receiving yards for Detroit.

Quarterback Brett Hundley totaled 245 passing yards and a rushing score for the Packers (4-4) in the losing effort. Green Bay was outgained 417-311 in the game.

Final Score: Detroit 30, Green Bay 17

11:14 p.m.: Touchdown, Green Bay. The Packers add a meaningless touchdown on the game's final play; Jamaal Williams runs it in from the 1. 

11:08 p.m.: Field goal, Detroit. The Lions eat up 4:03 of game time and add another short field goal as their lead grows to 30-10 with just under two minutes remaining.

10:58 p.m.: The Packers go for it on fourth down near midfield trailing by 17. Hundley throws an incomplete pass on the play and Green Bay turns it over on downs. 

10:50 p.m.: Touchdown, Detroit. The Lions quickly answer the Packers' touchdown with one of their own. Stafford connects with Theo Riddick on a screen pass that goes for 63 yards. Two plays later, he finds Marvin Jones Jr. for an 11-yard score as the Lions increase their lead to 27-10. 

10:46 p.m.: Touchdown, Green Bay. The Packers move to the Lions' 21 on a 46-yard pass from Hundley to Randall Cobb. Four plays later, Hundley keeps it himself and punches it in for the score to cut the Packers' deficit to 20-10 with 9:52 to play. 

10:32 p.m.: Field goal, Detroit. The Lions have three chances to punch it in from the Green Bay 2. They run it three straight times and come up short. Detroit is forced to settle for a short field goal from Matt Prater and it takes a 20-3 lead. 

End of third quarter: Detroit 17, Green Bay 3

10:29 p.m.: Detroit leads by two touchdowns at the end of the third quarter. The Lions will have a chance to add to their lead when play resumes; they’ll have a first-and-goal at the Green Bay 2. 

10:20 p.m.: Green Bay fails to take advantage of the Lions turnover. Brett Hundley throws two incompletions and Aaron Jones tallies a short run, forcing the Packers to punt. 

10:16 p.m.: Turnover, Detroit. After Stafford completes a 17-yard pass to convert on third down, Ameer Abdullah takes a handoff and fumbles near the line of scrimmage. The Packers recover; they’ll start their drive on their 27.

10:09 p.m.: Green Bay goes for it on fourth-and-2 near midfield. The Packers run a jet sweep to Randall Cobb, who is brought down well short of the marker. The Lions are set to take over in Green Bay territory.

10:03 p.m.: Field goal Detroit.  Stafford drives the Lions to the Green Bay 26 but throws an incomplete pass on third down. Matt Prater enters and converts a 44-yard kick to put Detroit ahead 17-3. Stafford has totaled 176 passing yards so far. 

9:55 p.m.: The second half is underway in Green Bay. The Lions will start the period’s first possession at their 25.

Halftime: Lions 14, Packers 3

9:41 p.m.: Field goal, Green Bay. Green Bay strings together a 12-play, 68-yard drive but comes up short on a third down in the red zone with time expiring in the half and no timeouts. Mason Crosby rushes onto the field and the Packers snap the ball just before time runs out. He drills the kick and Green Bay cuts its deficit to 14-3 heading into halftime.

9:27 p.m.: Touchdown, Detroit. Ameer Abdullah takes a pitch and runs into the end zone for a 4-yard score. The Lions lead 14-0 with 2:47 remaining in the half. 

9:22 p.m.: Golden Tate hauls in a catch and gets both feet in bounds to move the chains on third down. The Lions have it in the red zone with 3:20 to play in the half.

9:13 p.m.: Green Bay registers its second straight three-and-out. The Lions will start their next drive deep in their own territory following a holding penalty on the punt return.

9:07 p.m.: The Lions move

to the Green Bay 37, but their drive stalls there when Matthew Stafford throws an incomplete pass on third down. Matt Prater enters and attempts a 55-yard field goal but his kick hits the crossbar. Detroit still leads 7-0.

9:01 p.m.: Green Bay punts it away after Hundley comes up just short on a third-down scramble.

End of first quarter: Lions 7, Packers 0

8:49 p.m.: Touchdown, Detroit. The Lions answer Green Bay’s long drive with one of their own, but Detroit’s ends in seven points. Matthew Stafford connects with Marvin Jones Jr. down the right sideline for a 25-yard score to put the Lions ahead 7-0.

8:40 p.m.: Green Bay comes away with no points despite a 15-play, 58-yard drive to open the game. The Lions sack Hundley on first down and Green Bay settles for a field-goal attempt after an incomplete pass and a short reception by Trevor Davis. Mason Crosby’s kick is blocked and the score remains 0-0. 

8:37 p.m.: Brett Hundley completes his first four passes and moves the Packers into Lions territory. Hundley has also added 10 yards on the ground. 

8:30 p.m.: We’re underway in Green Bay. The Packers win the toss and elect to receive. They’ll start the game’s first drive at their 23 following the kickoff return. 

7:34 p.m.: The Lions and Packers have both announced their inactives.
